Close enough to be useful
Proximity matters more on packaging than people expect. Colour approval, a die line question, a last-minute change to a nutritional panel — all of it is faster when the plant is a short drive rather than a time zone away. Pickup from the Scarborough plant is available by dock appointment, and deliveries run throughout Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Aurora and Newmarket.
What Markham brands typically need
York Region’s mix skews toward consumer electronics and accessories, health and beauty, natural health products, specialty food, and the import and distribution businesses that repackage for Canadian retail. In practice that means:
- Retail-ready packaging — header cards, blister and skin-pack backers, five-panel hanger boxes, sleeves and PDQ counter displays, with euro slots and hang holes cut in house.
- Window cartons — die cut and patched in house with PET, PLA or acetate film, including curved windows and windows die cut to a product silhouette.

Small runs for launches
Markham has a lot of young consumer brands and importers testing a SKU before committing. Standard production starts at 5,000 units, but short runs from 500 units are available through SoOPAK, Beneco’s online instant-quote channel, produced on the same presses in the same Ontario plants. A brand can test at 500, scale to 50,000, and never change supplier or colour standard.
